Chapter 5: Be Authentic
Drake說：「你需要學習的第一個原則就是要真實面對自己。」
“The first principle you need to learn is to be authentic,” Drake said.
這讓我很驚訝。「真的嗎？」
This surprised me. “Really?”
「你本來期望的是其他東西嗎？」
“You were expecting something else?”
「我也不知道，我以為或許是愛，或是服從之類的東西。」
“I don’t know. I thought maybe love, or obedience, or something like that.”
Drake 笑著說：「相信我，我們總會到達那個境界。但第一個，也是最重要 (Importance) 的原則，就是要真實。這對我們靈魂的使命與幸福至關重要。你看，在物質界中，我們是以極低頻率存在的靈性生命，居住在肉體之中……」他稍作停頓後繼續說：「讓我們用你能理解的方式來解釋這一點，稱之為頻率。物質界運作於極低頻率，而靈界則運作於極高頻率。在這個世界中，我們既擁有靈性又擁有肉體，所以我們可以成為高頻或低頻的存在，這完全取決於我們如何調適自己。這樣說得通嗎？」
Drake laughed. “Trust me, we’ll get there. But the first and most important principle is authenticity. It’s vitally important to our soul’s purpose and happiness. You see, in the physical realm, we are spiritual beings living in a physical body at a very low…” He hesitated for a moment, then said, “Let’s relate this to something you can understand. Let’s call it frequency. So, the physical realm operates on a very low frequency. Spirit operates on a very high frequency. In the physical realm, we are both spirit and physical, so we have the capability of being very high-frequency beings or very low-frequency beings. It’s a matter of what we attune ourselves to. Does that make sense?”
「嗯，我想是這樣。」
“Yeah, I think so.”
Drake 就那樣看著我。
Drake just looked at me.

“I mean, yes. I understand.” As I accepted the lesson he taught me, I became aware of my own frequency. I was still very much a novice, but I discovered that I had control over it. Much like breathing, I existed in my natural “neutral” state without even thinking about it, but I could also exercise my will to elevate or lower my frequency.

He smiled and nodded. “Being authentic is bringing the physical and spiritual aspects of yourself together, accepting them as they are, and not being ashamed for the world to know the real you. Don’t worry about putting on one face for one side of your life and a different face for a different side of your life.”
「你的意思是，就像有人去教堂時表現出一副模樣，離開後卻變成另一個人？」
“You mean like when someone puts on one face to go to church, but then they become a different person when they leave the building?”
「正是如此。不僅如此，工作中、朋友間，甚至在家庭中，人們也常常掩藏自己的真實本性。真實，就是無論在何種場合，你始終如一，將物質與靈性完美結合，讓你個性的各個面向融為一體。這意味著你既要誠實自豪地展現自己的長處，也要勇敢承認自己的弱點。」
“Exactly. But it also applies in other settings. People do the same thing at work, with their friends, even with their own family. They hide their true nature from some group or other. Being authentic is being the same person when you’re at work and when you’re at home. It’s weaving the physical and spiritual parts together, so that all aspects of your personality can be one being. It means being proud of and honest about your strengths, but also acknowledging your weaknesses.”
「那為什麼這麼重要 (Importance) 呢？」
“Why is that so important?”
「因為，直到你找到真正的真實自我，你就無法成長，也無法獲得真正的幸福。」
“Because, until you can find true authenticity in your life, you cannot progress and find true happiness.”
「所以，不管你的弱點是什麼，只要接受它們就行？」
“So, it doesn’t matter what your weaknesses are? Just embrace them?”

“There’s a bit more to it than that. You still want to turn your weaknesses into strengths, but to do that, you have to acknowledge them to begin with. We’ll get into all of that. For now, you must accept that you need to be authentic. Authenticity leads to happiness.”

“Okay. I can accept that. What’s next?”

“There’s more to this that you need to understand. When you are not authentic, you seek to hide part of who you truly are. Unlike Earth, you cannot lie in this realm. When you look at someone, you know them instantly and completely, to the core of their being.”

I had already experienced that when I saw Drake. I could feel the tenderness and love that defined who he was.

“If you are not comfortable with who you really are,” Drake continued, “if you are not honest about that, you will hide away to avoid that scrutiny. Some choose to stay on Earth, clinging to old habits and old lies, because they’re not ready or willing to face the truth. They are unwilling to work through their limitations because they refuse to face and acknowledge them. They are ashamed, and so they do not progress.”

“It sounds like they don’t love themselves.”
「正是如此。你看，真實的核心在於愛。當你能真正愛自己，即便有缺陷，你也能敞開心扉迎向真正的成長和進步。愛就像一個具體可感的能量場，類似電流但更為強大，它驅動著上帝所創造的一切。」
“Exactly. You see it: the core of authenticity is love. When you truly love yourself, even with your imperfections, then you can truly open yourself up to real growth and progress. Love is like a tangible energy field. It’s like electricity, but stronger. It is what powers everything God has made.”
「聽起來…好強大啊。」我語塞了，深知自己還有很多需要學習的地方。
“That sounds… powerful.” I didn’t know what else to say. I was very aware of how much I had to learn.
「這力量是我們能夠產生、引導並運用以掌控一切的。它代表著對周遭事物的真正關懷。一旦你體驗到上帝純淨的愛，你每天醒來都會愛上所吸入的空氣。這意味著真誠地愛每件事、愛每個人。」
“It is a power that we can generate, channel, and use to direct things. It is a true caring about what is going on around you. Once you experience the pure love of God, you will wake in the morning loving the oxygen that you breathe in. It means authentically loving everything, and everyone.”
每個人。我思索這其中的含義，卻感覺到一陣抗拒與緩慢，就如同原本在太空中順暢行進，卻突然變得像在水中移動，甚至逆著強大壓力前行，總有東西拖慢了我的步伐。我看向 Drake 說：「發生了什麼事？」
Everyone. I thought about the implications and noticed that I felt a resistance. A slowing down. Like I had been moving through space, but was now moving through water, or against a strong pressure. Something was slowing my progress. I could not move forward. I looked to Drake. “What’s happening?”
他眼中閃著關切，回應道：「你緊緊抓住了某些東西，那正阻礙你前往更偉大的境界。」
He looked at me with concern in his eyes. “You’re holding onto something. It’s keeping you from something greater.”
「那到底是什麼？」
“What is it?”
「看進你的內心，你看見了什麼？」
“Look inside yourself. What do you see?”
我低頭反思，發現自己對於真心實意愛整個人類仍存保留。我想起那些曾傷害我的人——有些是真實的，有些僅是我幻想中的——我曾對某些人閉上心扉。
I looked and recognized that I had reservations about authentically loving all mankind. I thought of people who had hurt me, some legitimately, some only in my imagination. There were people that I withheld my love from.
我感到十分羞愧，但 Drake 那溫柔的微笑卻給了我希望。他似乎洞悉我所有的心事，我知道從我們初次見面時，甚至可能在那之前，他就已了解這一切，而儘管如此，他依然選擇愛我。
I was ashamed, but Drake’s tender smile gave me hope. He was aware of my every thought. I saw that he had known this about me from the moment we first met. Perhaps even before. And yet, he loved me anyway.
Drake 正在向我展示，如何在面對他人弱點與失誤時依然去愛他們。他接納真實的我，同時也明白我仍能成就更好自己。
Drake was showing me how to love everyone despite their weaknesses, despite their failings. He accepted me for who I was, and at the same time, he knew that I could be more.
我跟隨他的榜樣，下定了愛所有人的意圖 (Intention)，包括接納自己的缺陷。我們立即恢復了先前的前進速度，我幾乎無法計算我們的速度，彷彿已超越光速。就在我疑惑我們究竟要去往何方之時，Drake 向我發問。
I followed his example and set my intention to love everyone, including myself, flaws and all. We immediately resumed moving forward at our previous speed. I had no idea how fast we were moving, I thought we had to be traveling faster than the speed of light. I was wondering where we were going when Drake asked me a question.

Everyone. I thought about the implications and noticed that I felt a resistance. A slowing down. Like I had been moving through space, but was now moving through water, or against a strong pressure. Something was slowing my progress. I could not move forward. I looked to Drake. “What’s happening?”

He looked at me with concern in his eyes. “You’re holding onto something. It’s keeping you from something greater.”

I had no idea how fast we were moving, I thought we had to be traveling faster than the speed of light. I was wondering where we were going when Drake asked me a question.

Chapter 5: Be Authentic

“The first principle you need to learn is to be authentic,” Drake said.

Drake laughed. “Trust me, we’ll get there. But the first and most important principle is authenticity. It’s vitally important to our soul’s purpose and happiness. You see, in the physical realm, we are spiritual beings living in a physical body at a very low…” He hesitated for a moment, then said, “Let’s relate this to something you can understand. Let’s call it frequency. So, the physical realm operates on a very low frequency. Spirit operates on a very high frequency. In the physical realm, we are both spirit and physical, so we have the capability of being very high-frequency beings or very low-frequency beings. It’s a matter of what we attune ourselves to. Does that make sense?”

“Yeah, I think so.”

“You mean like when someone puts on one face to go to church, but then they become a different person when they leave the building?”

“Exactly. But it also applies in other settings. People do the same thing at work, with their friends, even with their own family. They hide their true nature from some group or other. Being authentic is being the same person when you’re at work and when you’re at home. It’s weaving the physical and spiritual parts together, so that all aspects of your personality can be one being. It means being proud of and honest about your strengths, but also acknowledging your weaknesses.”

“Why is that so important?”

“Because, until you can find true authenticity in your life, you cannot progress and find true happiness.”
