Entity Parade

And so, the mass celebration of all these kind, friendly-looking people continued. Only now, something unusual began to spin and turn in the evening air. Suddenly, everywhere multi-colored translucent balls began to appear from all directions. They happily circled in the air and flew about among those walking the paths. People smiled and held out their palms for the balls to sit on like birds. Having sat for a short while, the balls assumed a more saturated color and then easily flew off and away in search of other raised palms.

“What is that? What are they doing?” asked Matilda.

“What do you mean, ‘feed a little’? You make them sound like vampires…”

“Yes, they are all different. The beautiful, transparent ones are the entities of love, gratitude, compassion, nobility, generosityand kindness.They carry the same qualities we have.”

“Futi, are you saying that how we are is down to these entities?”

“That’s true, too, but all the things you mention contribute only indirectly to whether one or other entity will settle near an individual. A person becomes like the entities that are present in them.”

We are seeing them with our bare eyes now because the Gods are giving us the opportunity and also because the atmosphere of our ritual is saturated with the energy of kindness and love.

Mostly good, kind entities are attracted to energy of that kind.” “But can dark entities come in too?”

“Yes, but they’re usually attracted to a malevolent atmosphere. Look, look!A muddy looking ball has settled on someone!”

The friends saw a brown colored ball with muddy green spots land on a girl’s palm.

“That is an envy entity,” said Itfut. “Perhaps the girl was unlucky this evening.” “Oh, but what if the entity possesses her?” exclaimed Matilda.

Something else happened instead, however. The girl did not chase the entity away or accept it. She just smiled thoughtfully and gently blew on the ball sending it a ray of golden energy from her other palm. The ball swayed and swayed and then flew away.

But can anyone explain what love is or why it appears so suddenly?”

The friends watched two golden balls land simultaneously on the palms of one of the newly-formed couples.

“Now it’ll all kick off!” exclaimed Itfut.

The balls shook filled with an even richer gold color and without pausing for a moment floated right into the chest cells of the two lucky individuals. They gave each other a strange look and for some reason dropped hands but then half a step later they stood closer to each other and set off with an easy step wherever their feet took them. They walked side by side sometimes bumping into each other, sometimes standing apart.

“Lucky couple!” said Matilda. “It’s a good thing there aren’t any balls flying about on this side. An entity of envy would definitely have got its claws into me.”

“Don’t you have a chosen one?” asked Itfut. “That Victor… are you and he…” “I don’t know. There’s definitely something between us but it’s confusing.”

“An interesting philosophy,” remarked Matilda. “It sounds logical to me.” “It’s not a philosophy,” said Itfut, “it’s just how things are.”

“So, you have to let yourself go and allow Strength in?”

“Exactly, there can be no love without Tenderness but without Strength love will eventually fade, too. The creator made love a dual reality for very good reason. Almost everything in life is dual in nature. A world in which there is only evil is doomed. Such a world simply could not exist. Don’t you think? And a world in which there is only good is equally doomed.”

“It’s true. Ideal worlds obviously don’t exist.”

Itfut froze becoming as still as her statue. She stood motionless without uttering a word. Frightened, Matilda started tugging at her.

“Futi, come back! What’s wrong? Oh, my God! It’s your name only spelt backwards!”

Itfut tried to calm Matilda down, but Matilda was not having any of it. She ran behind the priestess and called to her, “Tufti! Tu-u-uf-ti-i-i! What an exotic name you have! Soft like a feather bed! I’m going to call you Tufti! No, sometimes I’m going to call you what I did before, my Futichka, Futi!”

And so, the mass celebration of all these kind, friendly-looking people continued. Only now, something unusual began to spin and turn in the evening air. Suddenly, everywhere multi-colored translucent balls began to appear from all directions. They happily circled in the air and flew about among those walking the paths. People smiled and held out their palms for the balls to sit on like birds. Having sat for a short while, the balls assumed a more saturated color and then easily flew off and away in search of other raised palms.

“What is that? What are they doing?” asked Matilda.

“They are entities from the subtle world,” answered Itfut, “they are actively interested in our life. They like to attach themselves to us out of curiosity and to feed a little.”

“What do you mean, ‘feed a little’? You make them sound like vampires…”

“Don’t worry, they’re harmless. The majority of them at any rate. People are happy to share their energy with them, the energy of love.”

「那有沒有什麼是我們需要特別提防的呢？」

“Are there ones people should be wary of?”

「有的，每種實體各不相同。那些美麗透明的，正是代表著愛、感恩、同情、高雅、大方與善良的實體。它們承載著我們身上同樣的品質。」

“Yes, they are all different. The beautiful, transparent ones are the entities of love, gratitude, compassion, nobility, generosityand kindness.They carry the same qualities we have.”

「Futi，你的意思是我們現在的樣子全取決於這些實體嗎？」

“Futi, are you saying that how we are is down to these entities?”

“You say incredible things!” said Matilda. “In my world people believe that a person becomes the way they are because of their relatives, society, the environment and circumstances...”

Mostly good, kind entities are attracted to energy of that kind.” “But can dark entities come in too?”

The friends saw a brown colored ball with muddy green spots land on a girl’s palm.

Something else happened instead, however. The girl did not chase the entity away or accept it. She just smiled thoughtfully and gently blew on the ball sending it a ray of golden energy from her other palm. The ball swayed and swayed and then flew away.

“Exactly. Being in love is a manifestation of the entity of love. It will enter a person if they are ready to accept it but there has to be a potential object of that person’s love nearby, too.”

“Futi, you’re killing me! You really blow my mind with this stuff. How do you know all this?”

“Is it so hard to believe? Judge for yourself. You must have come across people who were living and perfectly normal, healthy life, and then suddenly for no obvious reason became immersed in some warped obsession. They can’t sleep, they suffer with imaginings, write poetry, commit all kinds of foolish acts, and can’t think about anything except the object of their passion. They have an entity. That’s the issue. The friends watched two golden balls land simultaneously on the palms of one of the newly-formed couples.

“Now it’ll all kick off!” exclaimed Itfut.

球體搖晃著，呈現出更加濃郁的金色，不假思索地飄進那對幸運情侶的胸前。兩人對視了一會兒，露出奇異的神情，忽然放開雙手，但隨後又靠近了一步，輕快地分道揚鑣開始各自的旅程。他們並肩同行，有時相互碰撞，有時又各自分立。

The balls shook filled with an even richer gold color and without pausing for a moment floated right into the chest cells of the two lucky individuals. They gave each other a strange look and for some reason dropped hands but then half a step later they stood closer to each other and set off with an easy step wherever their feet took them. They walked side by side sometimes bumping into each other, sometimes standing apart.

「真是天作之合！」Matilda笑道，「幸好這邊沒有到處飛舞的球，否則那個【entity of envy】(entity of envy) 早會把我攫走。」

“Lucky couple!” said Matilda. “It’s a good thing there aren’t any balls flying about on this side. An entity of envy would definitely have got its claws into me.”

“It’s not quite like that. Do you think that innocence is the ideal?”

“Well, all our so-called highly spiritual personalities call us to innocence, to the sublime and the spiritual at the same time as judging the so-called low and carnal. And how are we to argue with them? They have the upper hand because they are the righteous.”

「你們那些自詡正義的人並非必然正確。而你在劇場中體驗的，與其說是墮落，不如說是一種生活面向的展露，甚至可以稱之為愛。我跟你說，我非常喜歡那種感受。」

“Your righteous ones aren’t necessarily right. And what you had in the theater was not so much a falling into sin as a revealing of one side of life, even call it love if you like. I told you, I liked it.”

“Because there are two sides to love: Tenderness and Strength.”

“Strength manifests as just that, Strength. It manifests in expression and even to some extent in aggression.”

“In aggression towards the person you love?”

“It’s a different kind of aggression. It’s difficult to explain, like being in love.” “You mean sex?”

“Yes, there is duality to love, like so much in this world, and it is made up of two entities: Tenderness and Strength. They have to exist in harmony, in unity.

“I couldn’t say exactly but I suspect that in the course of talking to you, I am remembering the things I was taught and had forgotten.”

“So, you say that love has two types of entity. Which type settled in that pair?”

“Tenderness is a golden color. Strength is more purple. So far, they have only tender feelings for one another, but that’s just for now.”

Why does this unusual instinct arise in a normal, balanced person like some infernal fire that lights up their eyes making them seem like a different person altogether? It is impossible to explain the condition and cause of being in love. Defining sex is just as impossible.”

“Yes, I’m beginning to understand it though. Sex happens because the entity of Strength has entered them.”

“It enters if a person allows it to and accepts it, but if a person is frightened by the thought of changing and can’t accept themselves in that form then Tenderness remains without Strength and then there is no sex and eventually Tenderness itself is lost.”

“An interesting philosophy,” remarked Matilda. “It sounds logical to me.” “It’s not a philosophy,” said Itfut, “it’s just how things are.”

“So, you have to let yourself go and allow Strength in?”

Almost everything in life is dual in nature. A world in which there is only evil is doomed. Such a world simply could not exist. Don’t you think? And a world in which there is only good is equally doomed.”

“It’s true. Ideal worlds obviously don’t exist.”

“And because they don’t exist, there must be a balance between good and evil, between Tenderness and Strength, or righteousness and sin as you call it. So, there is nothing wrong with your theatre except that it lacks Tenderness. You should add a little more Tenderness.”

“Yes, I understand. Still, if I had to choose between my world and yours, you can guess which I would choose?”

Itfut froze becoming as still as her statue. She stood motionless without uttering a word. Frightened, Matilda started tugging at her.

「Futi，快回來！怎麼了？哦，我的上帝！這竟是你名字的倒寫！」

“Futi, come back! What’s wrong? Oh, my God! It’s your name only spelt backwards!”

「我就知道……不，我感覺到了一些不同尋常的氣息……」那位祭司幾乎聽不見地、語無倫次地說，彷彿迷失一般，「他們叫我Tufti，但不知何故，這裡我卻變成了Itfut。」

“I knew it... No, I sensed something...” said the priestess barely audibly and stammering as if lost. “They called me Tufti but for some reason, here, I became Itfut.”

“Hooray! We’ve found your second name!” Matilda was totally delighted while the priestess still could not quite get used to it.

“I’m Ilit! I’m Ilit! And you’re Tufti! And I’m Ilit! Almost like Lilith, Adam’s first wife! Woot-la!”

I’m going to call you Tufti! No, sometimes I’m going to call you what I did before, my Futichka, Futi!”
